CANCELLATION/ILLNESS POLICY

At Forth Street Speech Pathology we value the time and effort you dedicate to your therapy journey, & we aim to offer the same in return. To ensure smooth scheduling & fairness for all clients please review the following guidelines.

Notice Period

Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 48 hours (2 days) before your scheduled appointment.

Late Cancellations/No-Shows

Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice, or failure to attend without notice, will incur the full session fee. If the clinician has already travelled to your location, additional travel costs will also apply.

Late Arrivals

If you arrive late to a session, the appointment will still end at the scheduled time, and the full session fee will apply.

Rescheduling Options

Wherever possible, we’ll offer a rescheduled appointment within the same week. Alternatively, you may choose to swap to a telehealth session if in-person attendance is not possible (e.g., extreme weather or other unforeseen circumstances).

Attendance Expectations

While we understand life can be unpredictable, we encourage maintaining a minimum attendance rate of 70% to ensure consistent progress and fair access to limited spaces.

Ceasing Treatment

If you wish to cease therapy, we require 2 weeks' notice to allow for the appropriate closure of your file and a smooth transition.

Client Responsibility

It is the responsibility of the client, caregiver, or nominee to inform us of cancellations directly. Notification through third parties, such as schools or day programs, is not accepted.

Exceptional Circumstances

We recognise that emergencies or unexpected events occur. In these situations, we may waive the fee at our discretion.

NDIS and Funding Arrangements

For clients accessing services through the NDIS or other funding streams, cancellation charges will align with the relevant guidelines.

Preferred Communication Channels

Cancellations or changes should be made via phone, text, or email to the relevant clinician, ensuring prompt communication and confirmation.

Thank you for respecting our time and ensuring we can provide the best service for all clients.
